A Warm Welcome, On and Off the Course
We're proud of our golf course, but the clubhouse is every bit as much a part of the Copt Heath experience. However your round goes, you'll finish it with a warm welcome and a comfortable place to relax.
Whether it's a quick drink and a sandwich in the Stud Bar or a full à la carte evening in our 180-seat restaurant, our on-site team looks after members and visitors alike. With a patio and upstairs balcony overlooking the course, there are few better places to be on a summer's evening — and our private rooms cater for everything from small meetings to gatherings of up to 200 guests.
Junior Golf
The Peter McEvoy Trophy
A prestigious 72-hole scratch stroke-play competition for junior golfers under 18, played over two days and held at Copt Heath every year since 1981.
Named in honour of Peter McEvoy OBE — one of the finest British amateurs of all time and a Copt Heath member from the age of 13 — the Trophy has become the traditional curtain-raiser to the junior season and one of the most prestigious amateur events in Britain and Ireland. Past winners include Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Peter Baker. The 45th Trophy will be held on 15th–16th April 2026.
Heritage
More Than a Century of Golf
At the turn of the last century, two of the greatest names in golf — Harry Vardon and Harry Colt — came together to design the classic parkland layout that became Copt Heath Golf Club.
Founded by Alfred Lovekin, the club began life as a nine-hole course before Vardon extended it to eighteen. In 1913 Harry Colt — arguably the greatest course designer in history — redesigned the layout, and his course has remained almost unchanged ever since. Today Copt Heath is a National Club Golfer Top 100 course, renowned for its conditioning, its slick greens and nearly 100 bunkers.
